Line Technical Lead

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Act as the technical expert for packaging equipment, with in-depth knowledge of at least two key machines (e.g., filler, blower, seamer, or labeler), and provide leadership during maintenance and overhauls.
  • Develop, review, and continuously improve maintenance standards and plans in partnership with the Process Engineer.
  • Create, manage, and validate preventive maintenance schedules (e.g., 3-month, 6-month, and annual maintenance activities).
  • Take ownership of maintenance costs and equipment performance, driving reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the production line(s).
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, including CILs, planned maintenance, and major overhauls, from planning through to completion and validation.
  • Train operators and technicians on maintenance activities, CILs, and troubleshooting based on skills requirements.
  • Oversee external contractors to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts availability, and work order execution.
  • Monitor and analyse maintenance KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support tag management, operator capability development, and FIFO control of spare parts inventory.
  • Contribute to CapEx, NPD, and continuous improvement projects within the area.
  • Coach and support operators to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Lead risk assessments, LOTO compliance, and safe working practices.
  • Drive Carlsberg Excellence initiatives aligned to site KPIs and operational objectives.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • 3 - 5 years experience in a relative position in the Production environment
  • Experience in Lean / Continuous Improvement programs

 

Expected Basic Engineering Competencies

  • Understand mechanical principles, engineering drawings, tolerances, welding processes, and material strength.
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems, read circuit diagrams, and troubleshoot components and controls.
  • Develop process specifications and use instrumentation to maintain process control, quality, and safety standards.
  • Understand process control, sensors, actuators, motion control systems, machinery safety standards, and automation technologies used in packaging equipment.

 

Education/Qualifications

 

  • Minimum qualification as time served Fitter or Electrician.
  • Higher or University degree in Engineering (mechanical/electrical/automation or food technologies) (Desirable)
