National Account Manager - Supermarkets

 

Role overview

 

This commercially strategic role within the fast-paced and dynamic supermarket channel is accountable for developing and growing net sales revenue, trading contribution, and volume through world-class end-to-end strategic planning and implementation. The successful candidate will lead and manage strategic relationships with key supermarket accounts, driving market share and execution excellence in line with company objectives.

Core responsibilities include skilfully driving bottom line growth through mix, customer business development, relationship management (both external and internal), product availability, market execution, and joint business planning

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the growth of the supermarket channel by developing and executing high-impact account plans for key customers
  • Own and deliver commercial targets across revenue, volume, trading contribution, marginal cost, and price
  • Drive commercially strong negotiations—securing pricing, terms, and promotional agreements that maximise ROI
  • Unlock growth opportunities by building strategic plans that increase market share while delivering customer value
  • Take full ownership of forecasting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear visibility across your accounts
  • Manage trade spend and pricing effectively. Continuously identify cost efficiencies, improving processes to reduce cost-to-serve for key customers
  • Develop insight-led promotional strategies in collaboration with Trade Marketing and Insights teams
  • Shape the product portfolio in-store by optimising core ranges and securing new product listings
  • Leverage systems and data (e.g. Siebel, BW) to drive decision-making and performance tracking

 

What were looking for:

  • 2 years+ Key Account Manager experience
  • Thorough knowledge of drinks industry, products, channels and competition
  • Good knowledge of beverage industry, products, channels and competition
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Proven Negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills

 

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business related field.
