Senior Health Safety and Estates Manager

Job Overview

 

This senior leadership role combines strategic oversight of Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Facilities & Estates management across Britvic Ireland’s operations.

This role leads the implementation of Britvic Irelands Health & Safety standards, tools, and processes across Ireland, ensuring alignment with regional and global strategies in a standardised approach. Acting as a strategic partner to Leadership Team, driving continuous improvement, legal compliance, and a proactive safety culture, in all facilities. Representing the Ireland within the wider Health & Safety community and support the Integrated Supply Chain Director.

This role is a key member of the Irelands Supply Chain Leadership Team, working in close collaboration with the Integrated Supply Chain Director to ensure strategic alignment and operational excellence across all functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Champion the Group Health, Safety & Environmental strategy across Ireland, aligning with business objectives and creating a clear roadmap for execution.
  • Lead the development and execution of site-specific HSE strategies and objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Ireland HSE legislation, conducting self-assessments and audits in line with ISO standards.
  • Own and manage the HS budget and resource planning for the HSE.
  • Drive the implementation of integrated HSE management systems and ISO certifications.
  • Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring root cause analyses are thorough and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain oversight of all safety, health, systems across production sites.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified.
  • Champion a positive safety culture through leadership, training, and engagement.
  • Design and lead safety culture and leadership programmes across organization.
  • Support functional heads in HSE-related OPEX and CAPEX projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the management and development of our facilities and estates, in line with organizational and management objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of our facilities, including building and ground maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments.
  • Manage the upkeep and maintenance of our estates, including grounds, buildings, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including Building Regulations, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Manage projects related to facilities and estates, including refurbishments, renovations, and new builds. Aid other company projects as required.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services related to facilities and estates, ensuring value for money and compliance with organisational policies.
  • Identify and manage risks related to facilities and estates, including health and safety risks, financial risks, and reputational risks.

 

Requirements

 

  • A proven track record of Health, Safety and Estate Management.
  • Ideally 10 years' experience in Health, Safety and estates management, with experience of managing budgets, leading teams, and working with stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of end-to-end FMCG operations.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience in conducting and managing audits across multiple domains, including: Risk Assessments (identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational and compliance risks within facilities and estates).
  • QSE Audits and Security Audits (assessing physical and procedural security measures to safeguard assets, personnel, and infrastructure).

Education/Qualifications

 

  • Third level Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering qualification or similar (Building Services - Facilities Management – Industrial - Engineering)
  • Professional certifications such as CFM, PMP, or CEng.
