Job Overview

 

As Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing portfolios of capital projects to meet Britvic's strategic objectives. You will maximize value by driving operational excellence, increased resilience, and efficiencies, while minimizing our supply chain's environmental impact through efficient solutions and new technology. Supporting our Head of Project Engineering and the GB Supply Chain, you will be a key strategic player in building the services and utilities plant development masterplans for our sites.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Development, management and delivery of a portfolio of engineering projects, on schedule and within budget
  • Estimation and forecasting of capital spend
  • Management of projects in accordance with internal procedures, GMP, and relevant regulations including CDM, ISO22000, 45001 and 9001
  • Management of equipment specifications, scope of work documents and drawings
  • Management and coordination of engineering contractors
  • Selection, partnership and management of OEMs for the projects
  • Embracing the Britvic Early Equipment Management (EEM) process
  • Leadership, coaching and development of graduates into the project engineering team
  • Identify and action opportunities for process improvements to promote a continuous improvement culture

 

Skills

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present data and strategies effectively

 

Experience

 

  • FMCG manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in developing technical solutions from concept to commissioning
  • Experience managing projects across civil, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering disciplines (desirable)
  • Project management qualification preferred
  • Experience using SAP for capital purchasing (advantage)
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment lifecycles and Total Cost of Ownership

 

Education

 

A relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.

 

Certifications

 

  • Membership of an industry-related professional body (desirable)
