About the Role:
As Project Engineering Manager you will be responsible for developing and managing portfolios of capital projects to meet the strategic objectives of Britvic, maximising value by driving operational excellence,
increased resilience, and increased efficiencies, while minimising the impact of our supply chain on the planet through efficient solutions and new technology.
Supporting our Head of Project Engineering and the GB Supply Chain, you will be a key strategic player in building the services and utilities plant development masterplans for our sites. You will also play a key part in our annual capex review process, by identifying, estimating and developing projects.
You will program manage the design, delivery and commissioning of portfolios of engineering projects across the GB sites, ensuring the projects are delivered on time, in budget and to relevant standards. You will manage Project Engineers and Engineering Contractors to aid in delivery of the portfolio.
For each project in your portfolio, you will ensure a robust technical design and implementation plan. You will identify project workstreams, lead technical specification development, and support the tendering process, supplier selection, project planning, supplier/contractor management and daily project execution activities. You will forecast capital spend accurately and you will follow change management processes as necessary. You will ensure data analysis is used and produced in a meaningful and appropriate way, to help support the successful delivery of each project.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and partnerships, leveraging your strong relationship building skills and strong knowledge of project management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development, management and delivery of a portfolio of engineering projects, on schedule and within budget.
- Estimation and forecasting of capital spend
- Management of projects in accordance with internal project procedures, GMP and relevant regulations including CDM, and ISO22000, 45001 and 9001
- Management of equipment specifications, scope of work documents and drawings
- Management and coordination of engineering contractors
- Selection, partnership and management of OEMs for the projects
- Embracing the Britvic Early Equipment Management, EEM, process
- Leadership, coaching and development of graduates into the project engineering team
- Identify and action opportunities for improvements to processes to promote a continuous improvement culture within the engineering project team
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5
- Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
- FMCG manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience in the development of technical solutions f rom concept selection, through design development, delivery, installation and commissioning
- Experience of managing projects through civil, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering disciplines desirable
- Project management qualification preferred
- Experience in use of SAP for capital purchasing would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment lifecycles and Total Cost of Ownership
- Membership of an industry-related professional body desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present data and strategies effectively
