About the Role:

 

As our Business Development Manager - Independent Free Trade,  you will sit within the Licensed Channel Team, owning the overall sales strategy for the London area. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strong new customer relationships, winning new business and developing future growth opportunities in and across London.

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Independent Free Trade (Midlands and South) you will play a pivotal role in shaping the sales strategy for our London operations, guiding our recently formed London commercial team to success with three direct reports. We offer the autonomy to lead and introduce innovative approaches to drive excellence and commercial growth, taking the lead in expanding our soft drinks portfolio presence,  through business growth initiatives and proactively identifying fresh opportunities in the Licensed market, while demonstrating full accountability and ownership of profit and loss and budget management.

 

You will be results-oriented individual with a commercial focus, possessing the ability to build robust, long-term relationships. Your track record should showcase solid experience in account management, winning new business and demonstrating successful establishment of exceptional partnerships the FMCG industry.

 

This is field based role with a mixture of working from home and on-site visiting customers. The role offers a competitive basic salary, cash/car allowance, bonus, private healthcare, life assurance and more.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop close working relationship with cross functional partners including finance, brand teams, customer management & shopper strategy 
  2. Support creation and implementation of channel AOP linking back to brand outcomes required through their customers
  3. Develop customer base through understanding of key customer strategies to support us in improving our brand visibility and performance
  4. Translation & delivery of AOP through a clear set of GPS outcomes that are tracked through the year
  5. Ownership of monthly performance cycle tracking against AOP big rocks supporting the commercial team on their in year delivery
  6. Build close working relationships with key customers’ buying and insights teams, expanding Britvic Contact strategy 
  7. Ownership of customer range review and category reviews to deliver growth outcomes for Britvic, with a focus on distribution growth.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Experience working in London territories
  2. Extensive FMCG experience, ideally in a beverage or food environment
  3. Practical experience of category management & first-hand experience of managing customer relationships
  4. Understanding of the licensed channel
  5. Strategic thinker able to develop clear vision for the category within the channel / customer
  6. Strong commercial skills across a range of channels/companies
  7. Strong Communicator (written & presented) with good story telling & facilitation skills
