About the Role:

The Britvic Procurement team are responsible for sourcing all goods and services the business needs to operate. This includes our direct product requirements for packaging and ingredients as well as supporting wider business needs for indirect purchasing. Our vision is to continually sharpen Britvic PLC's competitive edge, maximising value through a creative, effective, strategic, passionate and professional team.

 

As Buyer (Ireland), you’ll provide assurance of supply and cost competitiveness by building effective supplier relationships in order to meet the needs of the Irish business. You will work with the wider procurement team and local business partners across multiple functions to support the implementation of procurement best practice and procurement strategies in Ireland.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Day to day Business needs

-Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of procurement spend through spend data analysis, and therefore understanding of opportunities

-Be able to analyse suitability of new suppliers through Financial analysis and use of tools such as Dunn and Bradstreet

-Run a full tender process by creating, running and analysing a RFP (through e-sourcing)

-Have an understanding of the relevant supplier market through supplier market analysis

-Ensure that all sourcing is done in line with Britvic’s compliance requirements

Cost savings and value delivery

-Working with stakeholders and budget holders deliver the best possible solutions for Britvic that ensure best value and price have been realised

-Deliver value for money through negotiation and understanding of best market price

Supplier Relationship Management

-Develop and maintain excellent supplier relationships with key suppliers to improve supplier performance and drive value over time through use of SRM tools and techniques, where appropriate

 

Stakeholder relationships

-Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the business unit. 

-Gain trust and support of the wider business to enable procurement best practice to become part of every day business life.

 

Maintaining smooth operations of the role

-Purchase within predetermined financial limits to defined quality standards. Ensure that the necessary action is taken where materials do not comply with material specification or delivery requirements through the appropriate mechanism for the portfolio to ensure the day to day operations run smoothly

-Ensure that suppliers are compliant with the agreed ethical trading policy and that our suppliers demonstrate a commitment to meeting our expectations of Corporate

 

Responsibility

-Ensure smooth transaction of operations through assuring all necessary purchasing and master file data is updated accurately and timely on SAP R3 / Procurement Approved Supplier (PAS) list. and equivalent information to support EBP system where relevant; rationalising and cleansing the relevant supplier base on an on-going basis

-Adherence to the relevant Purchasing Policies and Processes in force, including following the correct delegation of authority and segregation of duties

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

-Basic understanding of FMCG market and basic manufacturing experience

-Good generalist procurement knowledge across a range of Indirect or Direct supply markets

-Basic negotiation skills

-Basic understanding of Category Management & SRM principles

-Proficient knowledge of Procurement process e.g. implementation of RFx processes including eSourcing,

-Proficient at stakeholder management and project management

-Good interpersonal skills

Strong time management and organisational skills

Systems:

Basic knowledge of SAP

Knowledge of e-sourcing tools

Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

Qualifications:

A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable

MCIPS qualification is desirable
