Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven HSE Specialist to join our team at Britvic, a leading company in the Food & Beverages industry. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing and championing the HSE Management Programme, fostering a strong safety culture aligned with Britvic's core values. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to deliver HSE objectives, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and driving sustainable initiatives to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for incident reviews, inspections, and audits, coaching managers and supervisors to take responsibility for health, safety, and the environment.
- Undertake projects as directed by the HSE Manager and assist in training and coaching, such as inductions and contractor controls.
- Solve problems and work positively with relevant managers and supervisors to ensure all functions are safe, healthy, and sustainable.
- Carry out inspections and audits of key risk areas as directed by the HSE Manager.
- Deputize for the HSE Manager in their absence.
- Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely reporting of HSE incidents into the online HSE Management System.
- Work with teams to drive the Environmental performance of the Irish Business Unit.
Requirements
- Hands-on, practical knowledge and experience working in a similar role within FMCG or other similar business, collaborating with different levels across the organization to achieve success.
- Proven ability to coach others and deliver key projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in conducting HSE audits and inspections across multiple teams and providing feedback and action plans.
- Experienced in carrying out risk assessments and accident investigations to a high standard.
- Experience communicating with external agencies, HSE, Environment Agency, and auditing bodies.

Education/Qualifications
Essential:
- IEMA Associate Certificate (or similar)
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Preferred:
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (or willingness to complete training in role)
- Internal Auditor certification
