About the Role:


Assists the implementation of the IOI HSE Management Programme through others. With enthusiasm, ideas and a can-do attitude and a desire to continually learn and improve.
Working closely with all key stakeholders at all levels to embed a good safety culture, ensuring Britvic’s core values shine through whilst championing a delivery of the HSE objectives. 
To lead and deliver the Irish BU HSE plans for people, planet and performance. Ensuring compliance with all external health, safety and environmental statutory requirements and standards applicable to all functions.  

 

Engaging with the wider Business Units and PLC HSE Team to support the Britvic Zero Harm strategy and lead sustainable local initiatives to encourage improved performance and delivery of Plc and BU HSE targets across the Irish BU.

 

Participating in and leading internal audits to identify compliance gaps & good practice to Britvic standards.

 

Takes a lead role in working with Duty Holders to deliver the Legal Compliance Programme in line with requirements. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  1. You will be the first point of call for review of incidents, will be involved in inspections & audits and will coach the managers and supervisors to take responsibility for health, safety & the environment.
  2. You will undertake projects as directed by the HSE Manager and assist in training and coaching where applicable e.g., inductions and contractor controls.
  3. You will solve problems and work with all relevant managers and supervisors and will be positive and enthusiastic about making all functions safe, healthy and sustainable.
  4. Carry out inspections and audits of key risk areas as directed by the HSE Manager.
  5. Deputise for the HSE Manager in their absence.
  6. Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely reporting of HSE incidents into the online HSE Management System. 
  7. Work with the Site Engineering Manager, Operations Teams, Channel controllers & field sales functions to drive the Environmental performance of the Irish BU.
  8. Ensure risk assessments and other risk documentation/Safe Operating Standards for all functions within the Irish BU are maintained up-to-date and periodically reviewed and available in the Integrity management system.
  9. Support ISO 45001 and 14001 external audits - facilitating and hosting external auditors and guiding individual teams in their preparation activities.
  10. Work together with HR and Team Leaders to actively monitor Occupational Health surveillance activities and compliance; understand and respond to trends.
  11. Plays an active role in coaching & supporting Managers on HSE related matters and acts as a HSE related trainer for operators and technical teams along with field sales and non-site based teams.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

 

  1. Hands on, practical knowledge and experience working in a similar role within FMCG or other similar business, working with different levels across the organisation to achieve success. 
  2. Proven ability to be able to coach others and bring them with you to deliver key projects in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  3. Able to undertake HSE audits and inspections across multiple teams and provide feedback and action plans.
  4. Proven ability to carry out risk assessments and accident investigation to a high standard.
  5. Experience of communicating with external agencies, HSE, Environment Agency and auditing bodies

 

Qualifications:

Essential:
IEMA Associate Certificate (or similar) - essential
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential

 

Preferred: 
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (or must be willing to complete training in role)
Internal Auditor (preferred)
