Job Overview

 

This role is responsible for providing strong analytical quality assurance and performance management for all quality analysis conducted in the production facility, ensuring “right first-time” production. The position will also lead and develop the site laboratory technicians, implementing and enforcing quality control standards across the manufacturing environment. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with legal requirements and on-pack product claims through adherence to site quality plans and audits.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all site quality and production equipment.

  • Partner with external service providers to ensure timely calibration and servicing of equipment, including contract oversight.

  • Oversee routine analysis of raw materials, syrup, and finished products in line with site quality plans.

  • Support food safety reviews and change control activities related to packaging, processes, and product compliance.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on food safety, HACCP, and best practices in quality management.

  • Investigate quality incidents, ensuring product traceability, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), laboratory safety, stock control, and support factory 5S processes.

 

Requirements

 

  • Proven communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.

  • Proficiency in HPLC operation, troubleshooting, and other laboratory equipment (auto titrators, carbo QC, pH meters, densitometers, etc.).

  • Strong chemical and analytical knowledge, ideally gained in the beverages or FMCG industry.

  • Sound knowledge of food production processes, HACCP, and quality management systems.

  • Strong teamwork, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.

  • Solid computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel (SAP knowledge is an advantage).

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining food quality management and auditing systems.

Education/Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Chemistry or equivalent relevant industry experience.

  • HPLC training – Essential.

  • HACCP Intermediate level – Desirable.

  • Intermediate Food Hygiene certification – Desirable.
