Job Overview
As the Regulatory Affairs Manager for Britvic Ireland, you will ensure regulatory compliance across all products, ingredients, labeling, and advertising for Irish brands. This pivotal role requires balancing commercial objectives with regulatory requirements to protect Britvic Ireland's business interests and reputation. You will serve as the primary regulatory expert, collaborating with internal departments and representing Britvic at external industry associations while monitoring legislative developments across Ireland, the EU, and UK/Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and communicate regulatory developments across Ireland, EU, and UK/Northern Ireland, providing timely analysis of potential business impacts and required actions to key stakeholders.
- Lead the development of company policies in response to evolving food and drink legislation, while negotiating with regulatory authorities on matters of product composition, labeling, and compliance.
- Ensure all product formulations, packaging, and labeling for Britvic Ireland brands comply with relevant regulations, including oversight of new acquisitions and innovative products with novel ingredients.
- Support marketing initiatives by validating product claims, sustainability messaging, and advertising communications across all channels while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Provide direct line management for the Specifications Technologist, ensuring all raw materials, packaging components, and finished products meet internal specifications and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Irish, EU, and GB food and drink legislation, including implementation processes and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven EU Regulatory Affairs experience within a food or beverage FMCG organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong persuasion and communication skills to influence internal stakeholders, trade associations, and regulators on complex regulatory matters.
- Ability to translate complex technical and legislative issues into accessible information for non-technical audiences.

Education/Qualifications
- Degree in a scientific or technical discipline (minimum HNC or equivalent), preferably with a Food Science or Food Technology focus.
- Post-Graduate Certificate in Food Law or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Active membership and participation experience in food industry bodies such as IBEC, FDI, UNESDA, or BCI is advantageous.
