Job Overview

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for managing cross-docking operations, customer order fulfillment, inventory management, and quality control during the day shift. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee cross-docking operations, ensuring efficient movement of trailers for DFDS/UK shipments and managing the trailer park, including ordering additional trailers when necessary
  • Coordinate customer order picking processes to ensure timely, accurate, and damage-free fulfillment while managing any shortages outside of office hours
  • Conduct systematic cycle counting of rack locations, floor bins, express bins, and bulk areas on a 4-week rotation schedule to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate with production forklift drivers to optimize stock loading procedures, sometimes overriding system recommendations for direct trailer loading
  • Manage quality control processes by placing non-conforming stock on hold in SAP:EWM, completing NCRs with detailed pallet information, and coordinating with QC team
  • Process customs documentation for UK loads using GTA system and submit to clearance agents
  • Optimize warehouse space utilization by identifying and relocating partially filled rack locations, particularly during off-hours

 

Requirements

 

  • Forklift license (essential) and MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) license (advantageous)
  • Proficient working knowledge of SAP:EWM and SAP:ECC systems
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with GTA system for customs documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse operations and inventory control processes
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Technical teams
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions outside of standard office hours

Education/Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Valid forklift operator certification (required)
  • MEWP certification (preferred)
  • SAP:EWM and SAP:ECC system certifications or demonstrated proficiency (preferred)
  • Warehouse management or logistics experience in a similar role
