Recent & impending government legislation designed to tackle rising childhood obesity in the UK will restrict advertising, promotional and display practices that are intended to encourage the purchase of foods High in Fat, Sugar or Salt (HFSS). HFSS will impact all impulse categories at different levels and some categories will be more impacted that others. The Soft Drinks category is more HFSS compliant that snacks, biscuits and confectionary. 


Retailers are exploring ways to balance sales growth while complying with the government agenda and will partner with expert suppliers to maximise opportunities, founded on key category and shopper insight. The Soft Drinks category is in a good place to capture incremental sales and Britvic, with a portfolio c80% HFSS compliant, is in a prime position to lead the HFSS agenda and partner with key retailers.

This newly created Category Executive position will report to the Senior Category Manager. The Category Executive will be a hybrid role taking responsibility for the Booker account whilst also being the expert in understanding category performance through the lens of HFSS. In conjunction with the Customer Category Managers, you will identify opportunities for category development initiatives to drive sales in outlet and online e.g. customer range, space, layout. They will also lead the evaluation of these initiatives and their impact on both Britvic and category sales to share internally and externally.  This will drive mutual benefit for both retailers and Britvic, with incremental category growth for our customers and clear advantage for our brands, whilst growing shareholder value and enhancing Britvic’s reputation.

We are looking for applicants with and Analytical or Category background within an FMCG. At Britvic we take accountability for decisions we make. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
•    Strong planning, organisation and time management skills 
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Good communicator (written & presented)
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders
•    Knowledge of Excel & Powerpoint, comfortable with using data and turning data into insight.
•    Category management or commercial experience, preferably in an FMCG business, would be ideal.
