Senior, Learning, Development & Capability Manager - Hemel Hempstead

This role will help drive and inspire the business to continuously build our leadership and business capabilities so our people develop new skills and discover new ways to deliver our future plans.

Our L&D offering should meet the needs of individuals and the company now and in the future. This is an exciting role for a Senior Learning, Development & Capability specialist to shape and implement our leadership and learning strategy. Specifically, they will define and implement the learning initiatives that will build the business capabilities required for the delivery of Mission 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Based on our business strategy, develop both a Leadership Development and Learning strategy that identifies how we will build the skills and capabilities needed for now and the future
• Design & lead a learning needs analysis in partnership with the HR team and business leaders that translates business plans into the critical leadership and business capabilities. This will need to be a dynamic simple process that helps leaders prioritise key needs and flexible enough to facilitate a test and learn approach
• Develop and communicate a clear roadmap of learning initiatives. Ensure a strong link to business outcomes including our approach to measuring and tracking effectiveness of learning and development activities
• Identify how best to manage learning at Britvic. Review emerging external trends in L&D and build a recommendation on how we evolve our development infrastructure to ensure learning for all
• Build an engagement plan, with the HR team, to share our strategy. This should include how we align senior stakeholder to priorities and excite our people behind the opportunity of learning for all
• Continue to lead & champion the digital learning culture by year on year increasing the adoption and utilisation of our learning platform as the go-to destination of quality learning resources and experiences
• Work closely with our external digital partners - our learning platform designers to continually improve the look & feel of the tool to ensure the users journey continues to stay fresh and relevant & our external content providers to ensure we are accessing the best quality content aligned to our strategy for the best value
• Continue to build & champion the digital mindset of our employees by supporting other digital initiatives via the platform and in specifically by building our communities of practise to enhance peer to peer learning and cross functional collaboration via the platform
• Work on projects identified as key to our learning strategy – you will need to be comfortable managing several projects at one time, with varying levels of stakeholders and timescales
• Monitor and track progress of learning activities and evaluate the impact of learning approaches on business performance. Course correct where required and build the business case for future investment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• Demonstrable development experience in a FTSE 100/250 environment, preferably within an FMCG or retail environment
• Ability to build strong relationships within an HR function and with business leaders
• Understand business strategy and how to translate into learning requirements
• Strong facilitation skills – be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and constructively challenging to move the agenda forward
• Experience of design and delivery across multiple geographies and different cultures
• Understanding an experience in a range of learning platforms, digital design & delivery products
• Financial management – budgets, ROI, Procurement tenders
