About the Role
The Shopper Marketing Executive plays a pivotal role in inspiring more shoppers to choose our brands across multiple purchase occasions. Working closely with the Senior Shopper Marketing Manager, this position is responsible for implementing effective shopper marketing strategies across the Asda customer, with addition support across Morrisons for both Soft Drinks and Beer portfolios. The role requires creative thinking, commercial awareness, and the ability to develop compelling activation plans that attract new shoppers, encourage repeat purchases, build category value, and enhance brand equity.
Role Responsibilities
- Execute shopper marketing strategy across Asda, with support on Morrisons, in line with brand and customer plans
- Develop and deliver rolling 12-month activation plans across brands, portfolios, and customers
- Own end-to-end delivery of shopper activation campaigns, including objectives, KPIs, timelines, and budgets
- Create and deploy sales toolkits (POS, comms, field materials) to support in-store and online execution
- Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial, BOPS, and Customer teams to align and deliver campaigns
- Manage shopper marketing budgets, including spend tracking, media administration, and financial accuracy
- Present and sell activation plans to customers (Asda/Morrisons) to secure alignment and execution
- Plan and coordinate all executional details, including field resource, store communications, and project timelines
- Track, evaluate, and report campaign performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and optimisation actions
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support delivery and continuous improvement
Experience and Key Attributes
- Shopper Marketing understanding with experience of developing and delivering commercially grounded creative marketing activity in retail/wholesale customers. Alternatively will consider strong brand marketing experience with an understanding of what shopper marketing is.
- Demonstrated understanding of shopper marketing principles and experience delivering commercially grounded creative marketing activities in retail/wholesale environments
- Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to deliver plans on time and to specification
- Commercial acumen and category understanding to ensure activities drive business results
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to engage and influence a wide network of stakeholders across different functions
- Experience working with customers across different channels in a consumer-led organization (preferred)
