About the Role:

 

Improved cash and working capital performance is a key priority for Britvic, both to meet expectations in the current year, and to underpin our ability to deliver our future growth strategy. To ensure that we can drive this we must be able to understand and track the working capital impact of commercial and operational decision making across the group, as well as accurately reflect them in our performance reporting and forecasting.

 

A key focus of this role will be to drive the understanding, reporting and forecasting of cash across the Group, with a primary lens on the GB, Ireland and International Business Units. 

 

The role reports to the FP&A Senior Manager, and will need to engage with Treasury, Finance Controllers, Reporting Managers and FSS as well as seeking to understand the links between commercial activity and cash outcomes.

The role is also a key business partner to both the PLC Strategic Planning & Performance team and Investor Relations, providing accurate and timely financial information, insight and analysis for both regular reporting and ad hoc requests in addition to cash & working capital

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Working Capital & CapEx:

  • Business-partnering FSS, Supply Chain and other key areas of the business – be a visible face of cash
  • Period end reporting with detailed commentary on balance sheet/cash performance in, as well as medium term forecasting and tracking, encompassing key actions/owners
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of long term (18 month) currency forecast, on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packs for the CapEx committee.
  • Support and contribute to administration of key working capital-led meetings
  • Manage and deliver the annual balance sheet, cash flow & CapEx budgeting and forecast processes
  • Generate improvements in reporting and understanding of key working capital/balance sheet drivers
  • Various ad-hoc projects, including preparation of KPI dashboards, submission of Payment Practices reporting, term change impact analysis and other working capital initiatives

 

Other activities:

  • Assist in the design and creation of the monthly PLC Board & Exec management information packs for both historical performance reporting and forward-looking outlooks
  • Understand financial reporting and drive improvements in Business Unit commentary
  • Deliver analysis and data interpretations to support management understanding for both financial & non-financial KPIs
  • Create greater standardisation of KPI reporting across Business Units working with the Reporting Centre of Excellence to achieve this
  • Support Strategy & Planning team in short and long-term planning processes as required (e.g. timetable management, scenario analysis)

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

 

  • Good understanding of balance sheet and cash flow mechanics
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and challenge where appropriate
  • Networking with external finance and non-finance networks to build relationships and develop broader understanding of drivers of performance
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and simplify complex issues
  • Proven attention to detail, with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and personal and organisation skills
  • Good understanding of financial and accounting processes
  • Excellent Microsoft Office applications ability: particularly Excel
  • Background in FMCG and a broad commercial finance experience preferable

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE
