About the Role:
In our Mission 2025 we have called out Flavouring Billions of Water Occasions as one of the eight transformational opportunities that we intend to focus on across all Business Units.  Flavour Concentrates is at the very heart of the Britvic business and we are the leader globally in liquid Flavour Concentrates with brands such as Robinson’s, Teisseire, MiWadi and Maguary and these brands are central to our Business Unit plans. At the same time we estimate that there are more than 200 Billion water occasions in the markets that we operate in, of which we flavour less than 10% today, primarily in at home occasions.  It is also likely that with ongoing health and sustainability issues the growth in water will only accelerate, as witnessed by the explosion in the use of water bottles. There is a transformational opportunity for Britvic to be the business that expands the Flavour Concentrate category by accessing these water occasions with our brands.

 

As Marketing Controller, you will be responsible for shaping the vision for FBWO by defining the opportunity and setting out a roadmap and framework to deliver transformational growth. The role will lead an FBWO Squad, setting and leading the strategy and leading in an agile way to bring the key initiatives to market working with the BU’s. As Global FBWO Marketing Controller you will be responsible for the ownership of key programmes to flavour more water occasions globally to build Britvic brand positions. To deliver this you will need a clear strategy and a cross BU implementation plan that creates behaviour change with consumers and plans that are supported by our customers. This will require penetrating insights, transformative innovation, new routes to consumer and breakthroughs in driving behaviour change to bring innovation that brings significant value growth to our markets.

 

Reporting to the Director of FBWO, you will work with Squads built from teams across the BU’s to deliver closely with the Britvic Executive team and Marketing Directors, and play a critical role in delivering Britvic’s Mission 2025 innovation ambitions. 


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify Transformational Opportunities to expand the flavouring of water with key groups -  Through great consumer insight and cultural understanding define opportunities across all our key markets to accelerate the growth of the Flavour Concentrates category by accessing more water occasions. This will include existing and potentially new brands as well as partnerships.   
  2. Deliver Step Change thinking to the market to Flavour More Water Occasions – Use Agile Test & Learn Principles to launch innovation or initiatives where we get to market quickly and learn - Define launch plan & investment models.. Coordinate in-market test with business units and cross-functional teams. Coordinate launch Plan together with business units and monitor in-market tests.
  3. Ensure the key growth initiatives land in the BU AOP’s and are brought to life across the commercial function to build cross functional engagement and inspire delivery. 
  4. Build relationships and leverage external partners (agencies (advertising, digital, events, PR), freelancers, partnerships) to achieve your goals/results.
  5. Manage Performance Metrics of Accountability.
  6. Manage A&P Budget expenditure, and efficiently allocate resources to test + learn to prove scalability, and create a launch strategy.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. A creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and track record in leading new transformational thinking and launching new products in the FMCG industry.
  2. Experience working with the end consumer in mind and with consumer insights/data is required, experience within Food and Beverage is a plus.
  3. Developing customer value propositions incorporating customer feedback to deliver customer-centric propositions.
  4. Experience in business case development and managing the process for investment approval. High level of Brand P&L value management experience, able to demonstrate good commercial judgement to maximise brand profitability and enhance margin.
  5. Experience in leading agency partners to deliver world class research, collateral and NPD on time and with excellence, to change consumer and shopper behaviour.
