About the Role:

  • This role is a key reporting position within the Group finance function, responsible for the consolidation of Britvic’s financial statements and managing the statutory accounts process for the Group’s subsidiaries.
  • The Group Reporting Manager will be responsible for reviewing reporting packs from across the Group and also ensuring that packs gather all the necessary information to enable the production of consolidated disclosures in compliance with IFRS.
  • The Group Reporting Manager will also drive the implementation and enhancement of controls over the consolidated financial close process.
  • This role will manage, mentor and develop a team of two graduates that are studying towards their professional accountancy qualifications.
  • This Group Reporting Manager will work alongside the Group Technical Accounting Manager and support the generation of accounting entries for more complex accounting areas managed at a Group level, such as share-based payment, pensions and derivatives. The role will also be a key point of contact for the Tax, Treasury and Cosec teams as well as the external auditors. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly consolidated Group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement, including any necessary elimination or Group level adjustments and ensuring key controls are performed.
  • Review of the monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash flow, including compilation of insightful commentary.
  • Production of consolidated financial statements and disclosure notes for the annual and interim financial reports.
  • Work closely with senior Finance stakeholders including CFO, Group FD, and BU FDs. 
  • Review and oversight of the half yearly reporting packs submitted by all BUs. 
  • Managing the statutory accounts process for the Group’s subsidiaries, including timetable, relationship with auditors, review of financial statements and production of financial statements for certain entities.
  • Provide accounting training sessions for BU Finance teams as required to support monthly reporting requirements and the production of statutory accounts.
  • Support on accounting entries for complex accounting matters such as pensions, derivatives, share-based payment, impairment testing and leasing.
  • Own key models such as those required for share-based payment and impairment testing of intangibles and investments in subsidiaries.
  • Awareness on all future accounting and reporting developments.
  • Prepare written updates for the Audit Committee papers on a quarterly basis.
  • Support the Group Technical Accounting Manager on key financial accounting projects and initiatives.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in Practice or a Financial Accounting / Reporting environment, preferably with plc and multi-currency consolidation exposure.
  • Expert in technical accounting and reporting – IFRS, Local GAAP. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Statutory reporting process expertise.
  • Management of external relationships – audit/regulatory.
  • Ability to be able to clearly articulate risks, processes and controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder management & influencing skills working with stakeholders of all levels across the BUs.
  • Experience with SAP, SAP BPC and OneSource Accounts Production is desirable.
