About the Role:
Creating a global premium branded portfolio to access adult socialising occasions has been identified as one of the eight transformational opportunities for Britvic Plc in Mission 2025. London Essence, created in 2016, is now classified as an accelerate brand and is a key part of achieving this vision. It has been voted the No 2 top trending and bestselling mixer by world leading bartenders, is the fastest growing mixer in GB retail and has ambitions to become one of the most desired soft drinks in the world!

 

As the Marketing Controller responsible for London Essence innovation, you will be shaping and owning the vision for, as well as leading the delivery of, the innovation programme across key Business Units and markets. You will create the portfolio expansion to drive transformational growth as part of Britvic’s growth ambition and will inspire a thriving and diverse team to ensure the delivery of that programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own the brand innovation vision and 3-year pipeline based on identifying consumer and customer opportunities that will enable the brand to outperform competitors and achieve its vision.
  2. Create a regular rhythm of inspiration and collaboration which fuels the curiosity of the core teams and allows us to regularly explore the potential opportunities for growth.
  3. Lead the execution and delivery of Innovation and Renovation Programme, working closely with and providing direction to, the dedicated team within R+D.
  4. Working alongside the Marketing Controller for Activation, ensure the delivery of executional strategy and tools for innovation.
  5. Lead the delivery of the critical projects within the pipeline through the gate processes to delivery, supported by a Programme Manager for more complex projects.
  6. Lead the regular review and understanding of the cost of goods, supply opportunities for margin improvement to help unlock further profitability on the brand with finance, supply chain and procurement both for innovation and across the total brand.
  7. Lead the development of innovation inputs into the BU Annual Operating Plans to enable delivery of the brand and customer strategy. 


 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. A self-starter, with 10+ years of marketing experience, who operates proactively – and where necessary reactively – in order to understand and beat the competition.
  2. Consistent track record of creating and executing great ideas that have driven real value in the market.
  3. Is disciplined in thinking, decision making, action and follow through and has the tenacity to make dreams real.
  4. Understands premium brands in the market and the importance of the quality of execution in this context.
  5. Curiosity around what is happening in the external world to fuel shifts in brand development.
  6. Level of maturity and cultural awareness to be able to work effectively across different geographies, commercial matrix structures and partners. You’ll have worked successfully within a matrix marketing system or be able to demonstrate success across multi-functional & multi-cultural teams.
  7. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with power and persuasion to create momentum across internally and external teams through winning together / collaboration.
  8. Strong project management, planning and delivery skills with confidence to make tough calls and to effectively prioritise and focus resources for best outcomes.
  9. High level of Brand P&L value management experience, able to demonstrate good commercial judgement to maximise brand profitability and enhance margin.
  10. Experience of A&P Budget control at portfolio and brand level.
