About the Role:

 

This role is required to support the Head of IP & Interational to lead and partner the business in achieving its business performance and innovation targets by identifying opportunities and risks (legal, commercial & IP) and by delivering clear and practical strategies and solutions.

 

In addition to this, you will advise the International arm of our business and provide contentious and non-contentious IP advice in all Britvic markets and in connection with the contractual aspects of the creation, protection, defence, enforcement and exploitation of IP rights, together with supporting the management of Britvic’s IP portfolio globally and proactive challenge of third party infringers.

 

 

This role would suit a confident, pragmatic and commercially/IP focussed lawyer who is able to apply good commercial and legal judgement to decision making and who takes a creative approach to problem solving.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

International Business Unit

 

Assisting the Head of IP & International with delivery of all legal work required by the International Business Unit including:

 

  • Contracts
  • Corporate
  • Project Management
  • Legislative Requirements: 
  • Product launches and marketing
  • Compliance:
  • Litigation

 

New Product Development and General IP Support

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

 

Relevant Experience:

 

  • NQ – 4 years PQE;
  • Previous in-house experience in a commercial and/or IP role preferable but not essential; and
  • Experience in an international legal environment preferable but not essential.

 

Skills

 

  • Ability to identify and navigate complex legal issues (including in foreign jurisdictions), and to extract relevant information to provide clear, simple and commercial solutions in order to provide an outcome focussed approach which balances legal and business risks;
  • Knowledge of contract and commercial law;
  • Good knowledge of IP law;
  • Good understanding of competition law;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • Desire to lead and drive initiatives;
  • Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting pressures; and
  • An understanding of and willingness to learn about cultural differences
