Marketing Controller – Fruit Carbonates – 12m Fixed Term Contract
Location: Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid)

About the role:
As the Fruit Flavoured Carbonates Marketing Controller, you will be responsible for shaping and owning the vision for an exciting portfolio of brands including Tango, 7Up R.White’s and Mountain Dew. Leading a team of three as well as the extended cross functional team you will ensure that we deliver our brand strategies to win in one of the most demanding and varied marketplaces in the world. Its hard work but lots of fun as you constantly seek to keep us fit for the future and one step ahead of the competition through a combination of brilliant advertising and media planning, brand renovation and market leading innovation. In addition, you will also be responsible for leading the digital transformation plan for Tango that will see you enhance our consumer experience at every touchpoint. You’ll fully exploit all these opportunities and enable Britvic to become the most dynamic soft drinks company, creating a better tomorrow.
On a day to day basis you will:

  1. Lead the extended team by taking accountability for turning our brand visions into reality including owning key brand metrics (incl full financial P&L) and connecting to other functions.
  2. Lead digital communications transformation plan incl with Infused agency.
  3. Own end to end brand management for core Britvic’s brands Tango and R.White’s. This includes responsibility for brand strategy, development and activation. 
  4. Partner with PepsiCo on the GB execution of global brands 7Up and Mountain Dew
  5. Lead the development and execution of the brand AOP, across the entire marketing mix bringing this to life across the commercial function to build cross functional engagement and inspire delivery. 
  6. Lead the development and delivery of Innovation.
  7. Provide leadership within the GB Marketing organisation (role model on behaviours), and specifically to your direct reports.
  8. Build marketing capability through identifying and delivering of the right training interventions (Britvic Way of Marketing, coaching)
  9. Lead (for your reports) and participate in career pathing and succession planning for the marketing function. 
  10. Developing powerful relationship with the cross functional team at multiple levels to ensure the delivery of great outcomes in market.
  11. Manage and successfully develop relationships with agency partners and PepsiCo to deliver ideas that build brand equity and drive performance. 
  12. Performance Accountability: Full P&L responsibility for the Fruit Flavoured Carbonates portfolio.
  13. Manage A&P expenditure to maximise cash flow, improve working vs non-working spend ratio and maximise ROI.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Demonstrable track record of success within commercial, matrix organisation environments, especially leading, influencing and inspiring cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, Technical, Sales and senior management.
  2. Evidence of managing a portfolio a brand/sub-brands with complexity of channel
  3. Extensive experience gained within a branded environment, preferably FMCG. 
  4. Experience in leading agency partners to deliver world class research, marketing collateral and NPD on time and with excellence, to change consumer and shopper behaviour. 
  5. The successful candidate will likely have experience of building brands in social and digital platforms as well as delivering multi-media campaigns. 
  6. Proven experience in leading strategic brand and business planning with sound evidence of consumer and shopper insight-led strategy implementation.
  7. Consistent track record of creating great ideas that have driven real value in the market.
  8. High level of Brand P&L value management experience, able to demonstrate good commercial judgement to maximise brand profitability and enhance margin.
  9. Demonstrates strong relationships with commercial teams to achieve stretching goals.
  10. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with power and persuasion to win support both internally and with the global team but through winning together / collaboration.
  11. Strong project management, planning and delivery skills with confidence to make tough calls and to ruthlessly prioritise.
  12. Direct team line management experience with proven ability to inspire, grow and develop people but also ability to manage difficult conversations when required.
  13. Experience of A&P Budget control at portfolio and brand level.
