Marketing Controller - Growth Spaces (Purdeys & Aqua Libra)

About the Role:
As the Growth Spaces Marketing Controller, you will be responsible for shaping and owning the vision for an exciting portfolio of innovation brands of Purdeys and Aqua Libra. Leading a team of three  as well as the extended cross functional team you will ensure that we deliver our brand strategies to win in one of the most demanding and varied marketplaces in the world. Its hard work but lots of fun as you constantly seek to keep us fit for the future and one step ahead of the competition through development and execution of a winning proposition. In addition, you will also be responsible for leading the definition and execution of our consumer experience at every touchpoint. You’ll fully exploit all these opportunities and enable Britvic to become the most dynamic soft drinks company, creating a better tomorrow.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Own end to end brand management for core Britvic’s brands Purdey’s and Aqua Libra. This includes responsibility for brand strategy, development and activation. 
  2. Lead a team of marketeers by taking accountability for turning our brand visions into reality including owning key brand metrics (incl full financial P&L) and connecting to other functions.
  3. Lead performance cycle conversations with Exec and Innovation monthly reviews with senior stakeholders.
  4. Lead the development and execution of the brand AOP, across the entire marketing mix bringing this to life across the commercial function to build cross functional engagement and inspire delivery. 
  5. Work with relevant teams to grow revenue through the multi-channel mix for DTC and BTB (including ecommerce, grocery, D2C and Out of Home)

  6. Increase consumer/business acquisition through effective SEO, PPC, affiliate, insert programs, etc.

  7. Lead the development and delivery of Innovation.
  8. Manage and successfully develop relationships with agency partners to deliver ideas that build brand equity and drive performance. 
  9. Lead digital communications transformation plan incl with Infused agency.  
  10. Performance Accountability: Full P&L responsibility for the Growth Spaces portfolio.
  11. Manage A&P expenditure to maximise cash flow, improve working vs non-working spend ratio and maximise ROI.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Previous experience of managing and growing innovation brands at a senior level within an FMCG environment
  2. Demonstrable track record of success within commercial, matrix organisation environments, especially leading, influencing and inspiring cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, Technical, Sales and senior management.
  3. Evidence of managing a portfolio a brand/sub-brands with complexity of channel
  4. Evidence of developing a brand including brand proposition and record of building an omnichannel brand through brand campaigns and effective SEO, PPC, affiliate, insert programs, etc.
  5. Previous experience of building brands in social and digital platforms as well as delivering multi-media campaigns and managing DTC or BTB. Specifically, background in consumer marketing via online media sources including paid search, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing and social media.
  6. Extensive experience in planning and executing world class Digital campaigns across paid, owned, earned.
  7. Experience in leading agency partners to deliver world class research, marketing collateral and NPD on time and with excellence, to change consumer and shopper behaviour. 
  8. Proven experience in leading strategic brand and business planning with sound evidence of consumer and shopper insight-led strategy implementation.
    Consistent track record of creating great ideas that have driven real value in the market.
  9. High level of Brand P&L value management experience, able to demonstrate good commercial judgement to maximise brand profitability and enhance margin.
  10. Strong project management, planning and delivery skills with confidence to make tough calls and to ruthlessly prioritise.
  11. Direct team line management experience with proven ability to inspire, grow and develop people but also ability to manage difficult conversations when required.
  12. Experience of A&P Budget control at portfolio and brand level.

 

This role would suit someone who has combined experience working with large FMCG brands and smaller innovation brands with a start up mentatality
