About the Role:

 

As our Consumer & Sensory Science Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Sensory Hub which encompass Britvic’s expert sensory panels and provides an objective voice of consumers in the process of product development.

 

You will act as the link between R&D, Marketing and Consumer Insights by understanding the sensory characteristics of our products, packs & prototypes and translating these into relevant insights to drive product and packaging that delights consumers.

 

This is a full-time role on 12 month Fixed-Term Contract basis, offering a Hybrid working pattern. 


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the sensory pillar of Consumer & Sensory Science that enables us to understand our products sensory profiles throughout the delivery of proactive and reactive product development needs of business.
  2. Embed a centre of excellence that supports Global Sensory QC Program across different factory sites and with co-packers.
  3. Lead creation of robust research learning plans in partnership with Consumer Insights team and wider members of CSS, embedding sensory and consumer research approaches for range of projects across our portfolio.
  4. Manage the NutriSense tool in partnership with Nutrition team to provide up-to-date sensory data on our brands versus competitors for the sales and marketing teams.
  5. Line management responsibility of Sensory Panel Leader

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. A degree (or equivalent) and/or 5 years working experience in a scientific discipline, sensory science or food technology discipline is essential.
  2. Proficient in the use of sensory software programs for both acquisition and statistical analysis of data
  3. Skilled in analysing data and interpreting results, translating them into clear actionable insights, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  4. A natural problem solver
