About the Role:
This role reports into the Group Treasury Manager to support the management of the Group’s exposure to financial risks including foreign exchange, interest rates and commodities and ensuring the appropriate accounting and economic outcomes are achieved.Playing a key role in developing the Group’s currency forecasting processes, implementing and developing risk management processes and improving the visibility and reporting of the Group’s risk position. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and report the Group’s exposures to FX, interest rates and share scheme purchases providing timely and insightful reporting to key stakeholders.
  2. Working with the Group’s Commodity Risk Manager to support the Group’s commodity risk management activities across multiple Business Units
  3. Business partnering to drive: 
    • Currency forecasting understanding and improvements
    • Supporting BU identification of currency risks
    • Appropriate governance over currency decisions in Business Units
  4. Establish and maintain processes to monitor compliance with the Group’s policies on foreign exchange, interest rates, shares and counterparty exposures.
  5. Forecast and manage the delivery of the Group’s external interest charge providing timely updates to the business.
  6. Evaluate, report and execute hedging requirements under the Group’s share incentive schemes
  7. Work with the Group Treasury Manager and Group Financial Control team to ensure that the appropriate accounting treatment of all derivatives is understood and applied correctly.
  8. To ensure all required documentation and testing under IFR9 is complete and accurate and all derivatives achieve the desired accounting treatment.
  9. To work with the Group Treasury Manager to assist with the production of treasury related outputs necessary for statutory reporting purposes.
  10. Support the development of system-based reporting from IT2 Treasury Management System to reduce the use of Excel in risk management activities and to ensure risk management data within IT2 is complete and accurate.
  11. To support the wider Treasury team on other aspects of Treasury management and ad-hoc projects as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Foreign exchange and interest rate risk management and derivatives.
  2. Working in a UK Plc / Group environment
  3. Previous experience in a group corporate treasury function with a specific exposure to derivatives and risk management.
  4. Experience of treasury management systems, IT2 preferred
  5. Part qualified AMCT or other ACT modular qualifications
