About the Role:

Value creation and capture is central to the delivery of our 2025 vision.  We need to identify opportunities for value growth, build commercial propositions to access them and ensure our governance processes Captures the benefits.

The Value Strategy Executive will assist in the delivery of the in year commercial plan, through evaluation of promotions entries into the system, maintenance of the “Rules of the Road” Tool and updating our Price Reporting Suite.

 

Key Accountabilities:

1.Support the refreshment value strategy manager in the analysis of various data sources that help

a. build clear long-term value strategy that covers all value levers (Mix, Price Increase, Promotional Conduct) by maintaining the Customer Management Communications tools

b. set the pricing & promotional strategy for each brand/channel

c. influence key roles in the business to ensure the commercial investment behind each proposition is understood and followed

2. Run the Promotional Governance Process

a. Ensure that the Promotions loaded into the system do not breach our promotional rules by manipulating vast data sets and processing it through Excel models

b. Communicate the biggest breach’s to relevant persons & ensure corrections are made or the activities are escalated to governance forum

3. Maintain the Rules of the Road Tool kit

a. Build relationships with the Value Strategy Managers to ensure that the Promotion Rules Tool kit accurately communicates the Price and Promotions that we expect to see in End Outlet

b. Update the promotional rules tool kit details as part of our yearly planning cycle

4. Update our Price & Promotion Reporting Tools

a. Ensures that the Nielsen reporting tool kit is updated each Period and reflects any new products

b. Ensures that our Anaplan reporting suite in updated each Period to reflect our Customers full year plans

5. Support key data point changes & support the annual price increase process

a. Ensure MRSP and List Price Changes reflect the value managers plans

b. Ensure that the customer case cost reflect these increases and customer management are aware of these details

c. Ensure all changes are accurately communicated to our internal partners through our tool kit

 

Measures:

Quantitative

Performance of plan (total P&L) vs targets

Shape of plan (where does our growth came from vs. where we set out to get it from)

Qualitative

Delivery of commercial plan on time, exceeding targets within guidelines of the commercial strategy

 

Experience Required:

-Strength in analytical reasoning and numerical analysis

-Commercial awareness of P+L right through the value chain to consumer price

-A relentless drive to build understanding that leads to actions

-Strong Excel skillset

-Strong attention to details

-Background in FMCG preferable – retailer or manufacturer

-Experience across one of the following functional areas: Trade Marketing (RGM/MS&P etc), customer management or P&P would be helpful but not essential
