Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team at Britvic, a leading company in the Food & Beverages industry. In this role, you will work collaboratively with skilled engineering personnel to ensure the reliability of our production lines, complete preventative maintenance tasks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and extend the knowledge and capabilities of our Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Completion of Intrusive, Planned & Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PM's)
- Maintaining and managing production plant, ancillary and support equipment, transferring skills to shift teams
- Engagement and communication with the engineering and planning management team
- Observance of safe practices at work and knowledge of relevant statutory requirements
- Ensuring legal compliance and compliance activities are completed in a timely manner
- Effective & safe management of contractor activities
- Delivery of continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility
- Reducing site energy and utilities consumption
- Ordering relevant equipment, spares and service, supporting site stores and procurement process
- Working collaboratively with suppliers, project and site teams
- Providing technical expertise & mentoring for apprentice development and activities
Requirements
- Relevant Engineering experience, preferably in an FMCG environment
- Experience with Pasteuriser, Labelling machines, bottle filling machines, depalletizers/palletizers, and packaging machines
- Familiarity with welding, working with Co2 and compressed air
- Expertise in electrical fault finding, modification/installation of electrical circuits & protective equipment
- Experience in modular and condition-based engineering, aligned with Britvic's Maintenance Strategy
- Ability to manage and organize contractors, ensuring safe systems of work
- Competent in using SAP MMS
- Excellent creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance practices
- Capable of working within a small, dynamic Engineering Team
- Fault finding experience and diagnostics of root cause failures
- Ability to set & maintain 5S standards
- Capable of learning and developing standard operating procedures for others
- Autonomous planning of workload and driving through to completion within reasonable timescales
- Capable of mentoring Apprentices
Qualifications
- City & Guilds level 3 in an Engineering discipline
- ONC or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HNC preferable)
