Job Overview
As Factory Operator, you will operate machinery in the safest and most effective manner, driving activity to maintain and improve performance standards whilst leading continuous improvement through all BWS activities. This position fulfils a “Non-Core Champion Role” to integrate functional requirements with operational, providing role model behaviour to others.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with company policies and statutory regulations for health and safety.
- Take accountability for the day-to-day performance of your personal area of operation and influence.
- Contribute to ensuring that factory targets are met with regard to OE, SKU adherence, Wastage minimization, Quality, Health and Safety, and Overhead Cost Control.
- Ensure Housekeeping and Hygiene standards are met and constantly maintained across the site.
- Provide a role model example within the team for attitude, contribution, and teamwork.
- Operate equipment in accordance with best practices, complying with Health and Safety rules and regulations and Britvic Policies and Procedures.
- Lead BWS activities and take responsibility for team performance and involvement.
- Undertake basic maintenance tasks to drive efficiency of product and size changeovers of equipment within the designated team.
- Within the remit of the Non-Core Role, represent team requirements with the sponsoring function, organize team activities to support the achievement of functional targets, and provide feedback through individual and team briefings on objectives and progress.
- Within the remit of the Non-Core Role, provide the primary liaison between the operations team and the sponsoring function through the appropriate coordinator.
- Be the primary liaison with the leadership team regarding team performance and KPI target progression.
- Provide specific support and guidance when required for the development of others on equipment and BWS activities within the designated team.
Requirements
- Direct Manufacturing Operational experience working in a fast-paced, Consumer goods environment
- Previous skills in the theory and application of TPM and improvement principles while in the operation/control of machinery
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Excellent communication, team support, and facilitation skills
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Sound knowledge of HSE processes and application
- Understanding of BWS and continuous improvement activities
- Working knowledge and application of first-line engineering/lubrication procedures

- Relevant NVQ level 2 / equivalent
- Basic Hygiene Certificate
- ISO HACCPS Systems
- Manual Handling Instructor
- RIPPH Intermediate Hygiene (H & H)
