Job Overview

 

At Britvic, we are seeking a dynamic and committed Factory Operator to join our team in the Food & Beverages industry. In this role, you will operate machinery efficiently and safely, driving continuous improvement activities to maintain and enhance performance standards. As a Non-Core Champion, you will integrate functional requirements with operations, serving as a role model for others.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Comply with company policies and statutory regulations for health and safety.
  • Take accountability for the day-to-day performance of your designated area of operation.
  • Contribute to ensuring factory targets are met regarding operational efficiency, SKU adherence, waste minimization, quality, health and safety, and overhead cost control.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene across the site.
  • Exemplify a positive attitude, contribution, and teamwork within your team.
  • Operate equipment according to best practices, complying with health and safety rules, regulations, and Britvic policies and procedures.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities and take responsibility for team performance and involvement.
  • Undertake basic maintenance tasks to drive efficiency during product and size changeovers of equipment within your designated team.
  • Represent team requirements with the sponsoring function, organize team activities to support functional targets, and provide feedback on objectives and progress.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the operations team and the sponsoring function through the appropriate coordinator.
  • Liaise with the leadership team regarding team performance and KPI target progression.
  • Provide support and guidance for the development of others on equipment and continuous improvement activities within your designated team.

 

Requirements

 

  • Direct manufacturing operational experience in a fast-paced, consumer goods environment.
  • Previous skills in the theory and application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and improvement principles while operating and controlling machinery.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent communication, team support, and facilitation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental processes and application.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement activities.
  • Working knowledge and application of first-line engineering/lubrication procedures.

Education/Qualifications

 

  • Relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
  • Basic Hygiene Certificate.
  • ISO HACCP Systems.
  • Manual Handling Instructor.
  • RIPPH Intermediate Hygiene (H & H).
