About the Role
As a Shift Team Leader at our Leeds facility, you will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, quality, and performance excellence. This pivotal role requires exceptional leadership skills to inspire and develop teams while ensuring customer satisfaction and company compliance in a safe environment. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, promoting professional behaviors and embodying Britvic's company values.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead safety initiatives with an 'audit-ready' philosophy, ensuring all team members adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements while meeting established KPIs and maintaining proper PPE standards
- Drive quality excellence through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and industry standards, ensuring products meet the highest quality levels through a 'Right First Time' approach
- Deliver operational performance targets including OEE, reliability, SKU attainment, and yield while supporting production planning to ensure on-time delivery of customer requirements
- Manage and develop a diverse team of 5-15 employees, conducting regular performance reviews, creating tailored development plans, and fostering an inclusive environment where individuals can realize their potential
- Effectively manage costs through efficient use of materials, consumables, and labor while identifying opportunities for waste reduction aligned with Britvic's planet targets
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, defining, and solving complex operational challenges with a 'see it, own it, solve it' approach
- Ensure exceptional internal and external customer service to meet On Time In Full (OTIF) targets and site availability requirements
Experience and Key Attributes
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, quality systems, and operational excellence methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in performance management, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and developing talent
- Ability to work a 12-hour per day, 24/6 annualized hours shift pattern as required by the business
