Our Research & Development function is dramatically growing here at Britvic. Following a £240 million investment in new, state of the art production facilities we are looking for a Pilot Plant Technician to join the Piot Plant team in our new Pilot Plant based in Beckton. Britvic is aiming to push the boundaries with what we can do with our products using cutting edge technology to influence and inspire our well loved brands to become even better. This role is a great way of expanding your knowledge and skills based within a production facility as this role also gets to work really closely with a wide range of Key stakeholders  including OEM’s , a range of Technical departments, particularly with our product development team to develop new to Britvic and new to market drinks and packaging. We have great opportunities to influence marketing, supply chain and external suppliers to be truly innovative and guide our brands successes.

As a Pilot Plant Technician you will work with another Technician and the Pilot Plant Manager with ongoing operation approach and continuous improvement to enable R&D trials and commercial saleable production for seed brands or test market as required by the Britvic annual operating plan (AOP). This role is unique and greatly varied as on a commercials days you will run the operation of the equipment also ensuring all product meets quality requirements and provide critical engineering repair in case of breakdown . On other days you will be either supporting the trial production runs, maintaining the equipment or supporting the modifications of the plant to meet new packaging or liquid needs. You will also have to time to create and maintain Pilot plant SOPs and ABRAS for the Pilot Plant Equipment to ensure safe working practices and training documentation as well as support in the maintenance of high standards of hygiene and food safety within the Pilot Plant.

What we’re looking for in a Pilot Plant Technician:

• Someone who is up for the challenge and thrives on a range of different activities and loves working out technical solutions for engineering problems
• Experience working within an engineering department with multiskilled qualifications in a Production environment, Electrical essential (PLC Desirable)
• Confident practical engineering skills allowing you to maintain, adapt and optimise production equipment are essential.
• Practical knowledge of equipment operation and operational practices.
• Ability to write and implement effective CIL, Maintenance plans, SOP’s and production standards is essential.
