About the Role:

 

As Head of Engineering Transformation, you will play the lead role in propelling our engineering operations into a future of engineering excellence. This role is not just about managing projects; it's about leading change. Working across our 3 sites, Rugby, Leeds and Beckton. 

 

This position requires a strategic thinker who deeply understands the total lifecycle of assets in an FMCG manufacturing environment, as well as having a deep understanding of food manufacturing, maintenance processes and integration of new technologies.

 

You will embody our leadership ethos, championing open and effective communications that ensure alignment and foster an environment of collaboration. This role requires the ability to deliver a maintenance strategy and lead the creation and rollout of standardised maintenance systems, creating a blueprint for Britvic’s global business.

 

Your focus will be on assessment of current engineering and project systems, processes and practices to develop and implement best in class processes and systems. You will recommend changes in training, working practices and processes, working closely with the Supply Chain Excellence training and Continuous Improvement teams, and directly contributing to our strategic goals, enhancing operational efficiency and pushing the envelope of what's possible in manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Building and development of an engineering transformation team
  2. Leading the site and central teams through a maintenance transformation; defining, embedding and training maintenance strategies through the total maturity spectrum, from Run-To-Failure through to Condition Based Maintenance and beyond
  3. Leading development of systems for the project management and maintenance of Britvic Supply Chain assets
  4. Leading development of a system for analysis of the flow of supply chain maintenance data and processes. 
  5. Staying updated with knowledge of industrial engineering maintenance and best practise
  6. Drive functional excellence of the site and central engineering teams 
  7. Lead the design, development, implementation and embedding of engineering systems:
  8. Define and embed project management methodology for process/construction engineering project managers
  9. Leadership of team to produce engineering standards, processes, procedures, training and auditing of engineering teams
  10. Ensure best in class practices of preventive maintenance schedules, central inventory parts and daily consumable usage.
  11. Deliver savings through maintenance and inventory system improvements 
  12. Ensure principles of zero-harm and best quality are integrated throughout the transformation 
  13. Production of a 10-year maintenance strategy for Britvic GB

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

 

  1. Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications. 
  2. Membership of an industry-related professional body desirable
  3. Experience of working within an FMCG manufacturing environment and working within relevant safety and quality policies including HACCP, ISO45001, ISO22000 and ISO9000
  4. Experience of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  5. Experience of Maintenance approaches including TBM, CBM, RTF, PM, AM, and Total Productive Maintenance
  6. Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma
  7. Ability to lead a transformation and embed it across multiple sites
