About the Role:
To produce and implement maintenance schedules for the department equipment and container delivery, ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company’s standards to meet Production, Quality, Food Safety and Budgetary requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking day-to-day and designated tasks (e.g. Incident Co-ordinator duties, Fire Marshall duties, Lift Release duties, LOTO, PTW, Contractor Control, etc.).
- Implement and maintain a planned maintenance system (within SAP) for the Canning/PET production lines, to ensure that all plant is fully maintained to optimum condition.
- Ensure that downtime reduction, plant reliability and OEE improvement is delivered on all Canning/PET production lines, and within budget.
- Create a flexible maintenance plan, capable of adapting to changing production needs. Monitor and modify this plan as required.
- Identify training needs of direct reports and prepare plans to meet these needs.
- Ensure correct spare parts stocking, necessary to ensure the operation of all Canning/PET equipment, whilst keeping stock to a minimum
- Implement and schedule completion of all works covered by other suppliers by way of relevant and value-for-money service contracts within Canning/PET.
- Participate and contribute to food safety, quality and hygiene procedures and standards for day-to-day production activities.
- Proactive in implementing continuous improvement initiatives - ensuring self and team support any focused improvement activity - in particular, own the RCA process for Canning/PET Engineering and ensure that all RCA’s are closed off in full (with the correct 100 year fix in place).
- Drive energy and care and maintenance cost reduction within the Canning/PET Lines.
- Maintain effective relationships with manufacturing plant suppliers and OEM’s.
- Develop in-conjunction with the OEM weekly maintenance and inspection schedules and an annual planned maintenance (APM) programme.
- Carry out duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated Management System, including implementation of all new Health & Safety legislation and ensuring adequate training on these matters for self and staff.
- Assist where required in preparing the site for internal/external audits and accreditation visits (e.g. FSSC, BRC, AIB, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Management/Supervisory experience
- Operational management experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean/CI tools and techniques
- Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation
- Knowledge of relevant Food Safety Legislation
- Electrical Engineer / Certified Mechanical Engineer
- Degree level education or proven equivalent experience
