About the Role:
As Technical Operator, you will work to achieve the required quality standards and contribute towards achieving budgeted site performance through the effective control, operation and maintenance of the relevant equipment.
Key internal stakeholders for this position will include Engineering Support Team Leaders, Team Leaders, and Shift Leaders, who you will regularly communicate with about the progress of work affecting plant performance and other information affecting the activities on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all duties within the operational area to ensure the required efficiency and performance targets are achieved
- Carry out first line maintenance PPM’s and routine diagnostic maintenance including lubrication schedules to maintain plant efficiency
- Collect all materials for the relevant zone and reconcile the usage and wastage of such materials
- Carry out the required quality checks, and complete procedures for reporting the results.
- Carry out all plant/product changeovers within agreed timescales/targets
- Ensure that all production is manufactured in accordance with the all Quality, Food Safety and Health and Safety standards as specified in relevant site documentation
- Operate a forklift truck as required
- Work towards continuous improvement in performance for self and team
- Communicate effectively on all issues relevant to the workstation
- Participate and make positive contributions to cross-functional project improvement teams
- Train others to operate workstations to approved standards
- Maintain the required standard and hygiene and housekeeping, in all operational areas, following laid down procedures
- Use business control systems, such as SAP, to help effectively control product inventory and track and trace requirements
- Fully undertake and propose improvements to, and development of, asset care routines ensuring their completion and effectiveness
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience of working in a production environment is essential
- The ability to work unsupervised, taking appropriate action as required is essential
- Effective communication skills are essential
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability and flexibility to work across several production areas
Qualifications:
- Basic standard of education, capable of achieving NVQ level II or equivalent
