About the Role:
The person in this role supports the delivery of all indirect tax and customs compliance across Britvic’s UK, Irish and International entities as well as leading process and efficiency improvements and delivery of indirect tax advice and support to the business. 

 

The role manages the production of the indirect tax returns across GB, Ireland and International entities as required and reviews all indirect tax returns to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submission.

 

You will lead process and control improvements across indirect tax processes in the Group whilst managing the review of customs data to identify issues and work with Head of Indirect Tax to resolve. 

 

The role also supports process and control improvements across customs processes across GB and Ireland whilst providing guidance, training and Indirect Tax support across all Finance Teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Produce the detailed analysis behind the Indirect tax returns including VAT, sugar levy and plastic packaging tax across UK, Ireland and Netherlands & Review the Indirect tax return for technical final approval. 
  2. Monitor and manage areas of indirect tax compliance risk.
  3. Oversee the posting and reviewing indirect tax journals.
  4. Review balance sheet reconciliations over indirect tax [and duty] accounts.
  5. Oversee the preparation and submission of the Intrastat returns across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Netherlands.
  6. Forecast VAT and other indirect taxes in GB, Ireland, Holland.
  7. Identify opportunities and own the delivery of process improvements to improve efficiency and control.
  8. Lead the provision of supporting materials for external audit of indirect tax returns.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Strong understanding of relevant indirect taxes.
  2. Strong analytical and interpretative skills.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality output in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  4. Ability to identify issues and proactively solve problems.
  5. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Able to clearly articulate finance concepts to non-finance colleagues
  6. Essential Systems experience: Advanced Excel, MS Office, (SAP: Highly desirable)
  7. Desirable systems experience: BPC, SAP-BW, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

  1. ATT, CTA or equivalent
