About the Role:

Reporting into the Head of Master Data, the Master Data Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient leadership of the Product Master Data Management (MDM) team, which looks after a variety of data across the Commercial, Technical, Financial and Supply Chain areas. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate master data for the aforementioned areas and processes, in accordance with processes, deadlines and targets.  The Master Data Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the team provide a quality orientated, highly customer focussed service to all internal and external stakeholders.

 

  • Day to day management of the Product MDM function and team
  • Be the master data lead on a range of ad-hoc internal projects where master data is crucial
  • Effective validation, quality maintenance and ‘Subject Matter Expert’, of Master Data related items, including Products, Materials, Bills of Materials, Production Versions, Packaging Instructions.
  • Business partnering with functional Managers for example in Value Engineering, Commercial Project Leads, Procurement, Supply Planning to plan and implement new data processes and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and delivery of Data Management services to agreed SLAs, data standards and controls.
  • Perform and action Business requests within the Service Level Agreement, (SLA), in a manner which is consistent with MDM data standards.
  • Ensure the highest level of data integrity using robust and thorough processes.
  • Implement processes and solutions based on data driven decision making.
  • Able to manipulate and understand large data sets.
  • Perform ongoing data maintenance and cleansing activities to ensure proprietary applications/systems contain quality data.
  • Be key point of contact for escalations from internal stakeholders, to resolve master data queries.
  • Assess organisational opportunities to improve Master Data at source, ensuring we capture data accurately from the start
  • Design, Develop and prepare various pieces of reporting & KPI’s (daily, weekly, periodically as appropriate) on behalf of MDM.
  • Provide leadership to MDM team members through effective objective setting, delegation, recruiting and communication.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Significant  experience in a Master Data function working on projects in the areas of data migration, master data management, data clean up, data governance and quality.
Analytical with exceptional attention to detail and a solid understanding of data integrity
Working knowledge of ERP system (preferably SAP) as well as the related processes.
Experience in recruiting, leading, developing and appraising a team.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Good understanding of GDPR policies.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.

Qualifications:

Ideally educated up to A Level standard
Project Management training / certification
6 Sigma or similar Process Improvement methodology training / certification
