Job Overview
We're seeking a motivated Customs Analyst to join our collaborative team in a flexible hybrid role. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager, you'll support customs compliance across the UK, Ireland, and the EU. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate import/export processes, maintaining customs data, and facilitating smooth cross-border trade. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support efficient and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customs records for the UK and Ireland.
- Monitor import/export activity and ensure compliance with agreed Incoterms.
- Collect and manage supplier declarations, including proof of preferential origin.
- Validate commodity codes and country-of-origin master data for accuracy.
- Liaise with customs agents to ensure they have the latest tax and compliance information.
- Classify new products and ensure correct customs treatment in internal systems.
- Conduct post-clearance audits and maintain issues log through to resolution.
- Prepare monthly import compliance reports and investigate anomalies.
- Responsible for Intrastat, EC Sales List, and other cross-border movement reporting where applicable (including Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the Netherlands).
Requirements
- 1–2 years' customs experience
- Solid understanding of EU and UK customs procedures
- Strong analytical mindset with great attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
